Armed variant of the Mil Mi-1 that could be fitted with a variety of weapony: an RPK machine gun; six-barrel TRS-132 rocket pods; four Falanga anti-tank guided missiles or six Malyutka missiles. The pilots were first trained for dual control in the tandem helicopter; the role of the secondary pilot was weapon control. Production of the aircraft began in 1961.
