Count Corrado Agusta, Honorary Chairman of Gruppo Agusta, was a major figure in the helicopter world. From 1971 to 1983, he was Chairman of the company founded by his father. Under his leadership, the Gruppo Agusta grew substantially from a licensee to a developer and manufacturer of its own product line.
Over the years, Count Corrado Agusta established strong personal an business ties with all major American companies in the helicopter industry, and was a strong proponent of international collaboration. His great personal ability to establish international relationship was instrumental in making the name Agusta well-known throughout the world. Some of the company's largest helicopter sales contracts were completed by Count Corrado Agusta in the many countries where he made friends who appreciated both his business and personal qualities. He died on June 16, 1989.
